My name is Chris Jones and I am a perfectly normal man who would appear to live a perfectly normal life. I have been blissfully married for 26 years to my wonderful wife, Sarah and we have a fantastic daughter, Becky. However, I have a not very well hidden secret! I am a complete "Ned and Crank" and specifically I am fascinated and absorbed by model railways.....hence the creation of the Corkscrew-Lines......Dreadful!

I am a professional railwayman having worked on the real railway on and off for 30 years including lengthy spells as a Guard, Passenger Driver, Freight Driver, Contract Manager, Signaller and now as a Mobile Operations Manager. I know about railways and I know how the real railway works. However, I find little to satisfy my enthusiasm in the current railway scene so I escape to my garage and the 1960s and the Corkscrew-Lines.

We were fortunate to be able to build our last home in the Lincolnshire Fens but due to work commitments we have now relocated to Sussex. I could have seen this as a major headache considering the progress I had made with the Corkscrew-Lines so far, but I'm going to see it as an opportunity. If possible I'll create a new home for the layout and if I'm really lucky I'll be able to use it as an opportunity to improve on the design....we'll see. Brace yourselves for the Corkscrew-Lines mk2 & now the Corkscrew-Lines mk3 - Hellfire!
Anyway, thanks for showing an interest in the layout and I hope you enjoy reading about all my adventures. The earliest blog entries are in fact copies of emails which I sent out to my closest friends and family members so they knew what madness I was up to. These emails were the Corkscrew-Lines Updates and I'd like to thank all those "Corkettes" who have been along for the ride from the beginning and offered so much support and assistance....you know who you are!
